One of our newest members of the team, Suzanne Nolan, headed to the MENTA Trade Fair last week to take advantage of a fantastic networking opportunity. UCS were there in force, with Jenni Carberry (our Enterprise and Business Development Manager) representing us with a stand for KTPs and Lego Serious Play.
It was a great event, with well over 100 exhibitors – businesses from all over Suffolk were there for client development and B2B networking. The MENTA team did a great job, and there was a great atmosphere of activity, with lots of conversations happening over stands and coffee. Suzanne spoke to a number of businesses about developing links with UCS, in particular talking to owners of companies who would be happy to come in and talk to our students.
One such business is run by Director Emma Bailey from Event Gems. Emma has an exciting story of working in events management and organisation all across the world, particularly travelling and working in the Middle East. A couple of years ago, she decided to branch out on her own, and now runs a successful events management company that really goes the extra mile. We hope to be working with Emma and Event Gems in the future.
Finally, there was an excellent programme of DEEP Digital Lounge talks happening throughout the day. From web analytics (by Green Duck) to E-Commerce (by Evance IT), the Digital Lounge had a wealth of information for the new business navigating the difficult world of digital technologies. It was a first, and a great addition to the event – something that we look forward to seeing more of in the future.
